Listen while you work
It seems like I never have time to read. Or rather, I never put reading high enough on my list of priorities to get a large amount of reading done. Take for example Plato's Republic. I bought that book almost a year ago and I never get around to reading it.
For me, I cannot multi-task when I read — some can, I cannot. Whenever I do take the time to read it is either because I am bored and feeling lazy (which doesn't last long) or else I end up feeling like I should be doing something more useful.
Anyways, after Dan and I listened to Freakonomics on our drive, I have gotten into listening to books while I am doing other things that have to be done. So, while I am doing things like cleaning I can get to those books that I never seem to have time for.
Today, while I did all the things around the house that I needed to do anyways, I listened to the first three books of The Republic.

Somehow I feel that it is required by law that there be at least one comment here that isn't from either Layla or Dan. I feel obligated to post something.
I mean... come on.... doodads??
If I'm not mistaken, this picture of Plato comes from "The School of Athens". Plato is shown asking God to pull his finger because he knows that everyone in the ideal heavens is totally into fart jokes. Next to him is Aristotle who has his palm outstretched facing the earth, because he believes that fart jokes are the purview of common man and can be fully understood through rational thought alone. The painting shows how passionate Renaissance intellectuals were about the subtle nuance of scatalogical humor and reflects themes evident in the works of both Plato and Aristotle.

The word doodads is there because I had a moment of clarity and changed it from do the dishes.
I figured I should be nicer and I can't hide the fact that he does the dishes more often than I do.
Isn't everything for men about fart jokes? Haha
