Canyon road walk
Dan's whole family came up to Santa Fe from Rio Rancho for Christmas Eve. We had dinner at Guadalupe Cafe with my mom. My favorite thing at Guadalupe Cafe is the stuffed chili filled with shrimp. It is basically a chili relleno but not breaded.
Anyways, after dinner we walked from the restaurant to Canyon road. It is a tradition (this was the 34th year) to walk along this road on Christmas Eve. All of the houses and galleries put farolitos and luminarios out for the walkers. The sidewalks are completely lines with paper bags with single light candles in each one. Many of the buildings also string lights. There are always several stands of people with hot cider and other tasty treats.
It was really nice to go down there because it has been years since I have gone on the walk before. Having great company never hurts either.
