Iss-a-quah?
There isn't much I know about Issaquah. Today, that is where we are headed — for a few good reasons.
- Shopping
There are a lot of benefits for working at Microsoft. Most of them are provided directly. Some of the benefits are discounts or perks given by other companies. Costco is participating in this sort of centralized advertising. Ah, the art of getting people to buy stuff because they are getting a special deal.Apparently it works — I will be there. I have never been to Costco before. Sure there have been a few times where if I had a membership I would probably have use it. Have I ever planned on getting a membership to some place I have never been to? Negativo.
Well, that is where the Costco Wholesale "Microsoft Employee Holiday Shop Nights" come into play. Basically, all Microsoft employees can go for a set amount of time without having a membership. There are a few discounts and chances to win prizes. My motivation is more of a why-not, it's free.
Hopefully, we will find some fun computer toys. I've heard the monitors are pretty nice.
- Beer
Oh yes, the real motivating factor. Now, I know I have mentioned Rogue beer. If you recall they have a brewery in Issaquah. Some of the Rogue beers can be found almost anywhere here. Sadly a few of them we have yet to find bottled. It is great to have all of them on tap when we go out, but some times it is nice to just have a bottle of your favorite sitting at home waiting for you. Almost every grocery store in town sells basically the same subset of the flavors. With any luck we will find Dan's favorite beer bottled. The actual plan is to drink beer first then go shopping at Costco to sober up. Surely we won't be troublemakers.
- Maybe more shopping
If we don't find what we want at Costco ... Fry's is on the way home.Fry's really has a bit of everything when it comes to electronics. By having a bit of everything though, many times they don't have the best of anything. I am not complaining too much. I end up there quite often.
Perhaps you will get an update if something amazing happens or if we buy something that is totally awesome. Hmm, this is probably it.

Nope, not from there. And I don't know anything about Issaquah except that there's a Costco there, a Fry's near there, and good beer there.
